Celebrated Busia County-born football star player Christopher Oruchum has joined former Kenya Premier League Club champions AFC Leopards on a four-year contract.
Sources within the club revealed that Leopards beat last Monday deadline to enlist the services of the player who may want to step into the shoes of Josepha Murila whose defensive role at the club and the National team Harambee Stars in the 1970s and 1980s made him the greatest central defender of all times.
Born in Amagaro village, Teso North Sub County in 1996 to former football official Simon Oruchum, Oruchum Junior started his football career at Mumias Central Primary school.
Oruchum later joined Chavakali High school where he guided the school to regional finals in 2015. Thika United signed him in 2013 while in form two.
In 2014, Oruchum was in the Copa Coca-Cola team that toured South Africa for a boot camp where they played a series of friendly matches. He was also in the Kenya SportPesa All-Stars team that traveled to the United Kingdom to play Hull City in a special friendly match.
