CECM Water, Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Renson Makheti has flagged off a general clean-up exercise dubbed ” Keep Bungoma Clean” today at P
The event was organized by Sang’alo Institute of Science and Technology, one of the oldest middle-level colleges in western Kenya as part of the institution’s corporate social responsibility plan.
While launching the clean-up exercise which will be held every first Saturday of the month, Hon Makheti urged residents to turn up in large numbers in their respective wards whenever the exercise is carried out.
Some of the activities that will be part of the exercise include removal of promotional posters, unblocking sewers, clearing mounds of garbage and adopting a responsible garbage disposal mechanism.

Principal Sang’alo Institute Of Science and Technology Dr Roselyne Muleshe thanked the planning committee and stakeholders for successful launch even as she highlighted the institution’s previous achievements in environmental matters and her future plans for the same. “A clean environment is a collective responsibility of all of us and we all need to support this initiative,” she said.
Supporting Sang’alo institute in this initiative is the Department of Environment Bungoma county, Equity Bank, Khetias Supermarket, Red Cross, Citizen Tv, Nation Media, West FM, Naivas Supermarket, KCB Bank, and Ministry of Education Bungoma county.
